Around Death Valley, there are plenty of campgrounds available and operated by the National Park Service, along with privately operated and managed campgrounds and resorts. As always, check with the Death Valley National Park Visitors Center or website to get up to date details as things may change without notice. Furnace Creek Campground:
This Campground is very near the Furnace Creek Visitors Center. This campground is open all year round and is available on the reservation from October 15th to April 15th. No reservation needed during Summer when it is available on a first come first serve basis.

Sunset Campground at Furnace Creek:
This campground is also near the Furnace Creek Visitors Center. This is available only available from October 15th to April 15th. No reservation is needed and spots are available on a first come first serve basis.

Backcountry Camping
Death Valley is a large, remote area with limited to no cell phone service. This makes it a perfect spot to consider backcountry camping. Now you can easily enjoy some dispersed or backcountry camping if you choose the permitted areas, prepare well, and follow the “Leave No Trace” policy. Camping Regulations
Each campsite can have a maximum of 8 people and two vehicles. However, if it is a Recreational Vehicle, then only one vehicle is allowed.
In the event you want to camp as a large group, it would be better to reserve a group site at the Furnace Creek Campground.
Campfires:
You can buy firewood at Furnace Creek and Stovepipe Wells General Stores. You could also bring in your own supply.
Fires produced by charcoal are only allowed to be made in NPS fire pits. All stoves are grills should only use gas to burn.
All fires are not allowed in the summer months, that is between June 15 and September 15. They are also not allowed in times where regions such as Mahogany Flat, Thorndike, and Wildrose Campgrounds face a high risk of catching fire.
Camping Limits:
There is a camping limit of 14 days per the calendar year to camp at the Furnace Creek Campground.
On other campgrounds around the Death Valley National Park, there is a 30-day per the calendar year camping limit.
Generator hours:
Generators can be used between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., unless otherwise posted. Generators are not allowed in the Texas Springs Campground, with an exception made from April 16 to May 15 in the upper loop from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Pets:
A maximum of 4 pets are allowed on each campsite. Pets must always be kept on their leash that should be no longer than 6 feet at all times. Also, pets should never be left unattended. Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.
Check-out Time:
Check out time at the Furnace Creek Campground is 12 noon.
Wildlife:
Coyotes and ravens are scavengers – keep your campsite clean! Do NOT feed or disturb wildlife.
